HL Aenor de PessacBallroom A
HL Aenor de Pessac
This class is about the Venetian version of the Turkish kaftan as seen in Titian’s paintings “Woman Holding Apple” and “Judith and the head of Holofernes”. We’ll review the history behind the relationship between Venice and the Ottoman Empire, and how that influenced Venice. We’ll then look at the Ottoman clothing that inspired the gown, and how the Venetians made it their own. Finally we’ll review the pattern for the gown and how to draft your own pattern.
