Build a plan to turn your basic garb into a set that reflects a historical time and place. We will start with an overview of the rectangular-construction style and some easy ways to personalize your tunic/gown. Add to this with simple layering, headwear, and legwear, highlighting cultural differences that help your garb tell a story. Examples are from Western/Central/Eastern Europe, from the fall of the Roman empire until the 1300s. Online handout and historical fashion “lookbook”.
