Practical Research into San Gong Chuangzi Nu, the Chinese Triple Bow Ballista

"San Gong Chuangzi Nu", the Three Bow, Little Bed Crossbow appears in the Song Dynasty (1240 ) document of "The Most Important Developments in the Military".  There are a number of drawings included and even more theories about how it worked.  But very little is actually KNOWN.  This class will present some of the history of this remarkable engine as well as a brief review of my process of research and construction of a working model suitable for SCA Combat and Target Shooting.
