Are you intimidated by a research project because you don't want to deal with citations, or you're not sure how to gather your research to effectively retrieve the information later, or maybe you're uncomfortable with outlines? Join this panel of researchers who use electronic tools to increase their effectiveness. Starting with a broad overview of some tools available and how you might use them, the panel will then focus on 2-3 tools they use like Zotero and Airtable. There will be room for full class Q&A and discussion at the end. This is not a class on how to use these tools, but an overview for
Presenters: This class will be instructed by a panel including Aelianora de Wyntringham, OL, Aline Swynebroke, OL, HL Alicia du Bois, and HL Gwir verch Merewith. All are passionate about research and have systems for making it more effective.
HL Gwir verch Merewith is from the Barony of Wyewood where she serves as Exchequer. Research is her passion and she enjoys finding ways to do it even more effectively. Coordinating this panel is important to her not only to share information but to learn more for her own work. Her research includes a paper on Medieval Attitudes Towards Spiders, with much help from Zotero, and several small explorations. She just began analyzing images of Opus Anglicanum pieces to discover patterns in the symbolism and color, using Airtable as a database (and having too much fun with it.) Gwir also likes to throw sharp objects at targets and embroider.
