Introduction to Tapestry Weaving: a Practical Class (part 1 of 6)

Note: This class meets from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. There will be a one hour lunch break
This class is geared towards people who have some weaving experience but want to learn tapestry weaving. The class will cover: warp selection, warping the loom, tension issues, and weft selection. Preparing your cartoon, different methods to weave shading, weaving shapes and circles. During the class there will be time for discussion on gothic tapestry and how it is different from modern techniques.
Students should bring: $10 for supplies; Tapestry Loom, scissors, note book, easel if they have one, warp materials if the loom is not pre-warped, weft wool, some will be supplied.
Please contact the teacher (trish.beadlady@gmail.com) to register for the class, as well as to communicate about what types of looms you have and how to warp them in advance. Teacher will also be able to bring a couple of simple frames that can be borrowed. If all the looms are pre-warped we can accomplish much more in the short time available.
