Houppelandes: History & Construction
Mistress Isolde de la Vielle-a-Roue, OL OP
The houppelande was a voluminous and showy high status garment worn during parts of the 14th and 15th centuries in some form throughout most of Europe and England. I will discuss the history and development of the garment, and also explain my theory on how it was constructed and how you can make a houppelande of your own.
