Fabrics for Rapier Armor – Strength and Durability

Azizia al-’hurra (AKA Arnaz) began her SCA career fencing in Trimaris in 2002 and was made a member of the Order of the White Scarf in 2005. In 2006 she served as queen’s champion and rapier war general where she became the first Trimarian general to win all of the rapier warpoints at Gulf Wars. Her passion for the teamwork of rapier melees caused her to recruit, train, authorize, and equip anyone with an interest in joining us including new Scadians, heavy-weapons veterans, and royalty who often took the rapier field for the first time at Gulf Wars or Pennsic to lead their kingdom. It was through her interest in equipping all types of personas and levels of rapier fighters that she learned how to make a diversity of types of rapier armor and advised many expert garb makers on how to adapt their patterns for rapier combat too. She moved to the West Kingdom in 2010 and was awarded her court barony in 2012 for her work with the fencing community there. She moved to An-Tir last summer (2019) and has been looking for opportunities to share her passion for rapier with her new kingdom through on-line classes. She hopes these classes will not only inspire current rapier fighters, but might also invite others to bring their passion for fashion to the lystfield.
