Maestra Althaia filia Lazari joined the SCA in 1991 and began marshalling in 2000. As of May 2020, she is the Earl Marshal of An Tir. Previously Althaia was the inaugural Martial Authorization Officer in An Tir from 2012 to 2016, creating that position from the ground up. She also created the role of Martial Projects Deputy in 2013 and held the job until 2020. addressing a wide assortment of administrative and educational tasks which benefit An Tir's martial community, including having a role in editing nearly all of the manuals. Althaia regularly marshals events in the central area of the Kingdom, primarily on the armored and rapier fields, but also sometimes on the archery range or as equestrian ground crew. She has been Marshal Activities Coordinator overseeing multiple sports at September Crown 2012 and June Faire 2013 to 2014. She has been armored or rapier MIC for multiple events including September Crown 2012 and 2019, June Faire 2012 to 2014, Sport of Kings 2009 to 2019, Emprise of the Black Lion 2010 and 2013, Art of War 2015 to 2016, and Autumn War 2018; as well as Deputy MIC at several other large events. Althaia has coached other MIC's at multiple events from the local to Crown level; and regularly teaches about marshalling to whomever wants to listen, both on the field and through formal classes at events. She has served as Kingdom Curia Clerk from 2011 to 2020 and Western Region Pelican Secretary from 2017 to 2019. Althaia was named as Honored Marshal of An Tir in 2007 and 2010, and admitted to the Order of the Pelican in 2011.
